Al Nasr and Al Jazira in goalless draw

Al Nasr and Al Jazira were held to a goalless draw in Al Maktoum Stadium on Friday evening in the fifth round of the group stage of the Arabian Gulf Cup.

Al Nasr's squad witnessed the absence of 8 influential players, Tariq Ahmed, Habib Al Fardan and Jassim Yaqoob were absent for the national team, the absence of Said Sweidan for his presence with the Olympic team, as well as the absence of Esteban Pavez and Brandley Kuwas to join the ranks of their national teams, in addition to the absence of Muhannad Khamis and Globier Lima due to suspension.

The Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurčić entered the game with a formation composed of Ibrahim Issa goalkeeper, in front of the quartet of defense Mohammed Sarwashi, Mohammed Ayed, Yaqoob Al Balooshi and Hamad Ghuloom, and in the middle of the trio Khalid Jalal, Hussein Mohammed and Antonio Toze, and in the triple attack Rashid Omar and Gabriel da Silva Alvaro Negredo.

The game was a good match for the Al Nasr, as the players dominated the ball for most of the game, thanks to the good spread of players on the pitch, and the constant pressure on the players of the Al Jazira when they have the ball, while the few attacking attempts by the Al Jazira team in the first half, contrast to the second half, which saw more than one missed opportunities in favor of Al Nasr, in the 50th minute saw Al Jazira keeper saved a powerful shot from Alvaro Negredo, he returned again and fired powerful shot in the 61st minute, but the ball passed next to the post, to pass the remaining minutes without any change and the referee whistle announcing the end of the game with a goalless draw, bringing the tally of Al Nasr to 5 points.
