Al Nasr Club organizes third Badminton Championship for women

In cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council, UAE Badminton Federation and General Authority of Sports, the activities of the third Al Nasr badminton club for women kicked off today Monday, at the French School Hall at  Al Nasr Sports Club, and will continue until August 23 as a  part of the celebrations of Emirati Women's Day.

76 female UAE nationals participate in the tournament’s singles and double categories that are held in 3 categories, which are the general category for singles and doubles, the under the 17-year-old category for singles and doubles, and under the 15-year-old category for singles and doubles. It is played in one stage with a knock-out system from one round.

Hosting this event demonstrates the keenness of the Board of Directors of Al-Nasr Club and the Al-Nasr Sports Company to spread this game, emphasizes the active role of women in the sports field, support  of making sports a way of life, taking care of girls’ sports, and encouraging them to develop and support their sports talents to reach professionalism .
