During the pre-match press conference for the upcoming Al Nasr vs. Ajman match in ADNOC Pro League, which will be played tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21 st, at Al Maktoum Stadium as part of the 24th round of the ADNOC Pro League, head coach Alfred Schreuder discussed the preparations for the match. He was accompanied by player Mohammed Barghash.
Mr. Schreuder stated: "An important and strong match awaits us in the league after the President's Cup final. We need to return to victories and positive results quickly. Abdoulaye Toure will be absent due to injury, but we are pleased to have Moussa Ndiaye back after the decision to send him off in the President's Cup final was overturned, which was entirely a wrong decision."
He continued, "In general, I do not like to talk about what happened in the President's Cup final. It was a special match for us, we prepared well for it, but some wrong refereeing decisions were the reason for the outcome. The referee did not review the VAR for the incident involving Al Wasl player number 7 on our player Rashid Omar, which is strange. In the case of Moussa Ndiaye, it took a minute and a half for the referee to make the wrong decision to send him off. I am at least happy that the officials now recognize that mistakes were made during the match and that they should not be repeated in important events like a final."
Player Mohammed Barghash emphasized the importance of the upcoming match against Ajman and confirmed that the players are well-prepared for it, saying: "Ajman is a strong team that has achieved good results recently and has excellent players. As for us, we are ready for this match, to achieve victory, and to show a positive reaction after the loss in the previous match."
He added, "I must thank the Al Nasr fans who attended and supported the team strongly in the final match and in all matches. We thank them for their support and constant presence behind the team. I also thank the head coach for his confidence and his excellent approach with the players. It is evident to everyone the many changes that have occurred in the team since the arrival of Schreuder."
