Negredo and Lima double lead Al Nasr to the quarter-finals of the Arabian Gulf Cup

Al Nasr qualified to the quarter-finals of the Arabian Gulf Cup, after achieving a 2-0 victory over Al Dhafra in a match between held on Saturday evening at Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Stadium, within the framework of the final round of the group stage of the Arabian Gulf Cup.

The first football team entered the game with a formation consisting of Ahmed Shambih in the goalkeeper, in front of him the quartet of defense Mohammed Sarwashi, Mohamed Ayed, Globier Lima and Said Sweidan, and in the middle the triple Esteban Paves, Hussein Mehdi and Antonio Toze, and in the triple attack Brandli Kuwas, Gabriel da Silva and Alvaro Negredo.

From the beginning of the game, Al Nasr scored an early goal that helped them to control the course of the game and resolve it early, in the 8th minute of the first half, first substitution of Mahmoud Khamis with Mohamed Sarwashi took place, in the 23rd minute, Alvaro Negredo managed to score the first goal of Al Nasr with a great shot that left Al Dhafra goalkeeper, Al Nasr almost added their second goal of the game at 32 minutes, when Negredo sent a superb cross, Kuwas fired with a shot, but Al Dhafra goalkeeper managed it to a corner, the minutes then pass and the referee whistles, announcing the end of the first half with the Al Nasr's lead 1-0.

In the second half, Al Nasr took control of the ball in midfield, the players sought to boost the score by scoring another goal to seal the game and pull down the opponents' chances, Toze almost scored the second goal in the 61st minute but Al Dhafra goalkeeper managed to save his shot, in the 74th minute, Mahmoud Khamis sent a superb cross, Mohammed Ayed headed in a powerful header in the direction of Al Dhafra goal, but it was blocked by the crossbar, in the 79th minute, the referee awarded the red card to Al Dhafra defender after his strong intervention on Negredo, in the 82nd minute, Globier Lima scored the second goal of the match with a neat header that doubled the net against Al Dhafra, the remaining time of the game passes, and the referee declares the end of the game with the victory of Al Nasr which raised their tally to 8 points.
