Al Nasr defeat Al Wasl at their homeground

Al Nasr scored an important 2-1 victory against Al Wasl in the 18th round of Arabain Gulf League today the at Zabeel Stadium.

The first half began with a great focus on the direct attacks by the two teams, with some serious threats, Al Nasr defense presented clear superiority and succeeded in converting attacks to fast pace counter attacks through Jasim Yaqoub and Rashid Omar.

Al Nasr increased an intense pressure in the last five minutes of first half. This pressure resulted in a penalty kick by Al Wasl goalkeeper Sultan Al Manthari came out to collect a cross from the left wing but instead he caught Rashed Mohammed's and Al Nasr were awarded penalty kick that was converted by Marcelo to score the first goal of game for blues in the last minute of the 1st half.

The second half came in more exciting by the two teams, Al Nasr team based on shooting from outside the box where Marcelo fired several shots at Al Wasl net.

In the 67th minute, on a quick counter-attack, Al Wasl managed to score the equalizer through substitute Hassan Mohamed.

In the 76th minute, the referee awarded a second penalty for Al Nasr, Rashid Omar fouled inside the box, in the meantime, Jovanovic took the first substitution with Ali Hussein replacing Jassim Yaqoob, Marcelo successfully managed to put it in the net, scoring the second an winning goal for the blues.

In the second minute of stoppage time, Al Nasr made the second switch with Rashed Mohammed Omar replacing Mubarak Saeed.

The match continued between the two teams and the blues managed to maintain their win, the referee announced the end of game by Al Nasr's 2-1 victory over Al Wasl, with this result Al Nasr raised their points balance to "32" equal to Al Wasl's points but stay behind due to goals difference in the ranking.
