Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Al Nasr Sports Club, held an extensive meeting with the members of the Honorary Council, in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Honorary Council Member; His Excellency Matar Al Tayer, Honorary Council Member and Chairman of the Executive Committee; along with members of the Honorary Council, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee. The meeting came within his commitment to strengthening the Council’s role in supporting the club’s journey and enhancing its sports and organizational structure.

Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan welcomed the attendees, wishing them success in performing their duties. He recalled the significant contributions of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who devoted his support and resources to strengthening Al Nasr’s position and enhancing its participation in local, regional, and international competitions, in addition to developing an institutional work system for the club. He emphasized that this approach remains a solid foundation for continuing the club’s journey and strengthening its leadership.

He said: “The club is your club, and the doors are open for ideas and initiatives of any size, to contribute to developing the club and enhancing its standing in the sports community.”

Sheikh Rashid also stressed the importance of teamwork and unifying efforts to strengthen the club’s position in the sports landscape, working according to a clear vision based on governance, institutional work, and continuous development to achieve the fans’ aspirations and reinforce the club’s historic presence.

Development and Investment Projects

During the meeting, the general development plan for the club’s land and future investment projects was reviewed. These initiatives aim to grow financial resources and ensure sustainable support for sports teams and talent development programs. Sheikh Rashid highlighted the importance of investment projects in providing long-term funding sources that enable the club to realize its ambitious plans and enhance its technical and administrative performance indicators.

Institutional Organization

His Excellency Matar Al Tayer affirmed that the club possesses a strong institutional legacy that has long been a fundamental pillar in its journey and has contributed significantly to sports development in Dubai.

He added that the organizational challenges faced in Dubai’s sports sector over the past 20 years were a key driver for advancing sports management systems. Al Nasr was among the first clubs to adopt advanced administrative structures that must be preserved and strengthened, as they represent one of the secrets behind success and competitiveness.

Al Tayer noted that the Honorary Council brings together a distinguished group of national leaders with diverse expertise in administration, finance, technical fields, and sports, enabling it to provide a comprehensive vision that supports the club’s development efforts. He emphasized that the club maintains an impressive record in financial and administrative performance and a solid governance framework that reinforces its sustainability and operational efficiency.

Honorary Council Interventions

The meeting featured several remarks from Council members, who expressed their gratitude for the trust granted to them and affirmed that this responsibility is a great honor and a strong motivation to serve the club, its legacy, and its fans. They reiterated their full support for the club’s path and their readiness to contribute to enhancing its performance on all levels.

Members renewed their commitment to working as one team, striving to support the club, strengthen its stability, and contribute to fulfilling its aspirations in the coming phase.

His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri emphasized the importance of conveying the Council’s vision to the players and boosting their motivation to achieve positive results.

Marwan bin Ghalita highlighted the importance of administrative organization and the investment portfolio as a foundation for benchmarking and achieving institutional excellence. Ibrahim Al Fardan provided an overview of the club’s investment plans, noting that opportunities are open for Council members to support and contribute to future growth initiatives.

Abdulrahman Al Mutaiwei stressed the importance of developing technical skills and strengthening the first team while preserving the club’s Arab identity. Qadhi Al Marweshid recalled the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid’s commitment to supporting youth and team sports, emphasizing the need to increase financial support.

Saeed bin Ahmed Al Tayer called for holding periodic meetings at the end and beginning of each season to review results and discuss future plans. Maryam bin Thani expressed pride in the trust placed in Council members and her belonging to the Al Nasr family. Mona Bu Samra also thanked the leadership for choosing her, emphasizing that passion for the club is the main driver behind her efforts. Khaled Habib Al Redha stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Board of Directors and the Honorary Council and establishing joint plans to support and develop ongoing efforts.

Historic Standing

Mansour Rahma Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Honorary Council and Chairman of Al Nasr Investment Company, affirmed that Al Nasr is the “Dean of Clubs,” with a history of more than 80 years and a strong institutional foundation. He emphasized that the club possesses a diversified investment portfolio, including strategically valuable real estate assets established by the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which today represent a key pillar of the club’s financial stability.

He stated that Al Nasr competes in 11 team and individual sports and includes more than 1,000 athletes. The club has achieved numerous titles and accomplishments across decades, reflecting deep-rooted sports work and continuity across generations. He added that reconstituting the Honorary Council at this time aims to restore the club’s natural place among title contenders, with reclaiming the league championship as a principal goal.

Al Falasi thanked the club’s president for his continued support, emphasizing the importance of open dialogue and exchange of ideas to strengthen institutional work, enrich future discussions, and map out the roadmap for the next fifty years.
