at Al Nasr football academy held an awareness lecture entitled “Children’s Stubbornness and Refining Behavior” for its technical and administrative cadres, as part of child protection workshops in cooperation with the Emirates Child Protection Association, and presented by Mr. Nasser Ahmed Al Harbi.
The lecture highlighted the Wadeema Child Protection Law, child abuse, and the methods taken to protect children from all manifestations of neglect, exploitation, abuse, and physical and psychological violence.
It also dealt with the phenomenon of children's stubbornness, and its transformation into a problem when it appears in the form of non-compliance, grumbling, defiance, anger, and then disobedience and doing the opposite of what is asked of it, and its negative effects on the child and his social and family environment, its causes, types and manifestations, and how to deal with a stubborn child, especially in football academies. The foot through good treatment, talking to children in a calm manner, taking into account the trainers for the children’s psychology at all times, balancing kindness and firmness on the playground, giving the trainees of the children a space of freedom in their own matters, training them to take responsibility, and the need to deal with the stubborn child Through wisdom, patience and dialogue.
Ways to discipline a stubborn child’s behavior were also explained by emphasizing on avoiding the use of violence with children or threats, threats and negative language, always containing them, dealing with them with open arms, not differing by trainers in directions and instructions, and accepting the child until he learns how to prove his personality, and how to deal with the child If the mistake is repeated or committed intentionally.
The lecturer also focused on the importance of ways to prevent the phenomenon of stubbornness by avoiding imposing punishment, following a good example, and understanding the reasons behind this phenomenon in a way that facilitates dealing with it. The football academy plays an important and effective role in nurturing and developing children’s behavior and guiding them.
